Robotics Engineering CPU

Introduction

In the Robotics Engineering CPU, students will gain an understanding of both robotics and engineering/design principles. This is accomplished somewhat through the reading materials provided in the course, but is mainly achieved through direct, hands-on activities. Students will construct and program a predetermined robot manipulator, then create one of their own. In this process, students will work through the design process; build the manipulator; program the robot; then test, revise, and update the robot for a final trial run. Understanding these processes is important in any sort of design work, but is especially useful in preparing for contests in which robotic design and implementation are judged.
