Activity 4
4-1. Identify the computer platform on which most CADD work was
done between the mid-1950s and the early 1980s.
4-2. Discover the company that first produced a computer with a

4-4. Understand the difference between a graphic drawn with a
pixel-based drawing program and a graphic drawn with a vector-based
drawing program.

The objectives for the challenges in this
CPU include:
Challenge 1
The student will conduct research on a career of the
student's choice in the graphic communications field. The student will
share the findings in a presentation.
Challenge 2
The student will design a business card using
CorelDRAW.
Challenge 3
The student will create a full page magazine
advertisement for an original product using CorelDRAW.
Challenge 4
The student will take an existing product and develop
three different advertisements for three different markets. (Example: a
product selling to children/teens, to thirty-somethings, and to senior
citizens.)
Challenge 5
The student will submit a bid for a graphics job to a
university to promote one of their athletic program's big events.
