machines to help lessen the amount of hard, physical labor required
to prepare and plant crops.
Activity 5
5-1. Explore different methods of harvesting
crops.
5-2. Investigate forage and pasture crops,
particularly hay.

7-1. Identify the classification of weeds based
on life span.
7-2. Explore the characteristics of weeds which
make them hard to control.
7-3. Investigate plant diseases.
7-4. Assess whether pests or weeds is a bigger
problem to a farmer and which is more expensive and difficult to get
rid of.
Activity 8
8-1. Differentiate among the six types of pest
control.
8-2. Investigate integrated pest management.
8-3. Use a chart to recommend spraying, based on
economic threshold level.
