The U.S. Department of Education
Office of Vocational and Adult Education (OVAE) has identified
16
career clusters representing career opportunities for the 21st
century economy. Career clusters provide a way for schools to
organize instruction and student experiences around the 16 broad
categories that encompass virtually all occupations from entry
through professional levels.
Agriscience related careers are
placed in the cluster defined as
Agriculture, Food, and Natural
Resources. Within that career cluster are a number of career
pathways, each of which is represented by one or more of the PACs.
The Agriculture, Food, and Natural
Resources career cluster is divided into seven general career
pathways:
-
Agribusiness Systems
-
Animal Systems
-
Environmental Service Systems
-
Food Products & Processing
Systems
-
Natural Resource Systems
-
Plant Systems
-
Power, Structural, and Technical
Systems
Hundreds of agriculture-related
careers are represented by these pathways. Applied Technologies has
correlated each of our PACs with one or more of the cluster’s career
pathways. Click the correlation matrix below to help you identify
the PACs that apply to each career pathway.
