Agribusiness Concepts PAC

Introduction

Farm Works screen captureThe business of agriculture has changed dramatically in recent years.  Even small family-owned farms must conform to the latest technologies and business practices in today's competitive market.  The Agribusiness Concepts PAC will help students understand the four types of businesses and learn what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur.

Using Farm Works, students will be exposed to financial records as they evaluate assets and liabilities from a demonstration farm.  They will also use the software to set up their own agribusiness.

They also work with GPS and GIS using IPAQ/NAVMAN technology to set land boundaries and consider the effects of satellite technology on agribusiness.
