Introduction

Advanced Agribusiness and Entrepreneurship is a project-based learning package of information, equipment, and supplies as well as suggested lesson plans. It was designed to be used as either a semester or a year-long project-based course.

Course DescriptionFarm Works Software logo

This is a course in the role and characteristics of agricultural and related businesses in our economy. The purpose of this course is to:

  • provide a basis for making effective business decisions
  • setting goals
  • assessing and solving problems
  • determining financial progress and success
  • evaluating the management of resources
  • gaining skills useful in the diverse fields of agribusiness and entrepreneurship

The package is comprised of 14 units, each containing the following:

  • Unit Overviews - objectives, activities, and a materials list for each activity
  • Instructor Notes / Instructor Information – documents, Slide shows and notes for whole-group instruction as well as instructions for small group and individual student activities
  • Student handouts and tests - work sheets and suggested evaluation for each activity
  • Farm Works accounting software
  • Handheld computers for GPS/GIS precision agriculture management tools
